About Me

I’m Keira Knox, a UK-based music journalist and the founder of Heard It Here First, a discovery-led platform dedicated to emerging and developing indie artists across the UK.

My work focuses on identifying early momentum, the touring patterns, fan engagement, and regional support that often signal long-term artist growth before wider industry recognition arrives. Rather than chasing trends or virality, I’m interested in the quieter moments of development: the first sold-out headline show , the support slot that shifts an audience, the regional scene that begins to build around an artist.

Through Heard It Here First, I produce long-form artist interviews alongside editorial and analysis-driven content, with an emphasis on live performance, grassroots touring, and sustainable career building. I aim to provide artists with space to reflect on their process while offering audiences context around where and how new music is emerging.

Alongside interviewing artists, I regularly cover the wider UK indie landscape, from venue-level progression to touring cycles and scene development, documenting the infrastructure that supports new music beyond the mainstream spotlight.

At the core of my work is a belief that discovery is about attention, not acceleration. I’m passionate about championing artists at the point where momentum begins to form, and about creating coverage that supports long-term storytelling rather than momentary hype.
